DIY High Waisted Shorts
From men's jeans to high waisted shorts, a step by step guide for this new trend. All you will need is a pair of men's jeans that are a bit loose, scissors, lace, sewing supplies, and bleach.
Step 1: Measure out the height of your shorts. Then, cut them accordingly.
Step 2: Get your sewing needle and thread. Measure the amount of lace you are going to use. Turn the shorts inside out. Sew the lace on the hem of the shorts. As shown below.
Add lace wherever you see fit.
Step 3: You can stop here and keep the shorts as they are or continue to bleach them. For this portion of the project, you'll need a tray or bowl to pour the bleach into. DO NOT FORGET TO WEAR RUBBER GLOVES. You can put the entire short into the tray, splash the shorts with bleach, or bleach a portion of it. Leave the shorts in the tray for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Leave the shorts out to dry a bit. Then, dry them either by hanging or using the drying machine.
Step 5: Next, hand was the shorts to get rid of the bleach.
This is definitely a cool project that costs less than actually going out to buy a similar pair. These are one of a kind shorts fitted to your specific style. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
Also, here are some other ideas for shorts! Found on this amazing blog!

Five Classic Prom Hairstyles 2013
Bouffant With Lots of Volume:
You'll need medium-size heated rollers. Starting at the front middle of your head, take a section two inches wide and an inch deep. Spray it with a little bit of hairspray. Then roll the hair around the roller back and away from the face. Pin in place and move to the next section. (The next section should be in the middle of the first). Once your rollers have cooled, take them out and give hair a good brush. Now, starting at the front, take an inch deep and two inch wide deep section and using a tail comb, comb the hair so there are no knots. Then place the comb half way down the section and just push the comb to the roots. You should only need to do this a couple of times to get the volume and height you need. Repeat this all over the head. Then, using your brush, smooth the surface of the top of your hair so that you have luscious, big, full hair. If you want, you can pull the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and use a barrette to secure it in place. This gives a looser feeling than a hair tie. You can then leave pieces out around your face for softness. If you want a bit more volume, pull the roots of the crown up for height.
Half-up/ Half-down waves:
To get the boho version, start by applying a volumizing mousse to the hair. Once it's dry, use an inch-wide curling iron to curl two-inch sections of hair all over the head. Once all the hair is curled, give it a good brush. Part your hair down the middle, and then on one side, start pulling the hair back into the middle back of the head, just below the crown. Use a couple of bobby pins to secure this side in place. Repeat this on the other side, but when you get to the back, do a twist inwards to the bobby pins and use U shaped pins to hold this side in place. The bobby pins underneath will act as an anchor.
French Twist:
Start by backcombing your hair at the roots. This will give you the foundation for your grips and pins. Then part your hair down the center back of your head. Push the hair on one side of the part away from the middle and make a line of 'X' shapes from the nape to the crown with bobby pins. Part the middle back of your head and start at the nape of your neck to roll the hair into the line of bobby pins until you reach the crown. Using U-shaped pins, tuck these into the twist. Repeat the process on the other side. Once you have your two pleats complete, it's time to bring the top in. Brush all the remaining hair back and twist the ends together. Then, hide them in the middle of the two pleats and pin in place.
Super Tight Ringlets:
Blow dry your hair straight. Apply a heat protectant to help prevent the hot tools from damaging your hair. Once dry, you need a small curling iron, like a quarter-inch barrel. Starting in the back of your head and taking one-inch sections, spray some hairspray. Wrap the hair in a spiral down the iron. Repeat the process until the whole head is curled. Once all the hair is cooled, go back to each section and using your fingers to break up each curl so the sections become smaller. This will add more volume, as well. Repeat this all over the head until you have lovely, bouncy spiral curls.
Crown Accessories:
Anything sparkly can be added anywhere and will work with any of the styles above. It's nice to put the hair accessory on one side, just above the ear. And remember to just have fun with it!
